AIT Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

Location: Stevenage

Pay rate: £35 per hour.

Overview:

A global pioneer firm in the aerospace industry based in Stevenage is urgently looking for an AIT Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team.

In this role, you will provide AIT Mechanical Engineering support for Satellite and payload production using 3D Experience. You'll assist in hardware assembly, including black boxes, Solar Arrays, and structural panels. Support Satellite environmental testing at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist during the customization phase from project kick-off.
  • Support DMU sessions for design optimization.
  • Create essential production documentation, including ACS inputs, work instructions, and procedures.
  • Take the lead in installing Satellite appendages and relevant integration processes and preparations.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proficient mechanical skills and extensive experience.
  • Expertise in writing procedures and process control.
  • Capability to support out-of-normal-hours work through the "on-call" rota process.
  • Quality-driven approach with keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience in producing high-quality documentation, including test specs, plans, procedures, AIT Plans, and DDV plans.
